Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition both are inter-linked terms, as the nutrients, we intake to nourish our bodies, frame our health. Although, there are several food nutrients; only, organic compounds e.g Carbohydrates, Fats and Proteins provide us with energy. Though the rest of others including fibre, vitamins, mineral salts and water, are also necessary for the growth and maintenance of a body. We need to maintain a balance in the food intake, in order to live an active and healthy life.
Although all of the organic compounds provide us with energy but the amount of energy differ from nutrient to nutrient, according to several researches carbohydrates provide us with most of the energy required to carry out the vital life processes of the body, by providing us 16 kiloJoules of energy per one gram of burning food, which requires the temperature of 41 degrees Celsius. Protein may be used to provide us with energy but its major function is the growth of the body and repair of worn out parts of the body. Fats contain the most amount of energy per one gram of food, which is 38 kiloJoules but as it needs the temperature of 92 degrees Celsius to burn one gram of food to release energy, which is difficult to be provided by the body and is not supported by osmoregulation as body has to maintain it's temperature at 37 degrees Celsius. So, fat is stored under adipose tissues and cause us to gain weight and add extra blubber. Note, that excess of any organic food nutrient will always be converted into fats and stored under adipose tissues. Coming to the conclusion one should avoid food containing a lot of fats and over-eating as both of them will result in weight gain. A fat person is subject to many deadly diseases and has a weak immune system in comparison with a healthy and slim person.

So, you should pay attention to select the type of food you should eat because that is directly going to affect your health. But eating less food than that of required for you, will make you suffer from anorexia, and your growth and immunity both will be affected negatively.
